because I'm taking an online course right now, so I'll be on the computer more. The end of July, and August, have been absolutely insane, what with teaching full-time and a grad class starting, and hopes for a rekindled exercise routine. I put me own new spanky nobbly tires on my touring bike. But I have homework to do, so for now I leave you with a poem I cannot get out of my head. I found it in a children's poetry book, and it resonates after delightful time in San Diego.
e.e. cummings is one of my favorites. Maybe I'll post others for fun discussion from time to time.

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles,and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea
